Disconnecting from Work Policy

We value the work that you do for us and encourage you to enjoy your time away from work. Holman Inc. recognizes that disconnecting from work is important to achieving a healthy work-life balance and we encourage you to do so. This means not engaging in work-related communications, including emails, phone calls, texts or video calls.

We also recognize however, that the demands of the job may at times require communications outside of normal working hours. Examples of when we will communicate with you include: office closures due to severe weather events, facility issues, unanticipated scheduling issues or client requirements that are time sensitive. To that end, we have developed this policy to assist us in developing common expectations regarding work-related communications outside of regular work hours.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Employees, including managers, should aim to conduct their communications during regular work hours whenever possible. If communication is required can it wait until work hours, or be emailed immediately with delayed delivery so it arrives during work hours? Can it be sent by email instead of by text or as a phone call? Use personal emails or phone numbers only when necessary in emergencies or if a company provided phone or email address is not available.

To assist in creating a healthy work-life balance, you are encouraged to assist by communicating your scheduled time off with others and to be mindful of communicating with your team members when they are not at work.

If you have a company email or phone please use an out of office notification or change your voicemail to let people know when you are returning to work.

APPLICATION OF THE POLICY

We recognize that work schedules may vary within the Company. This policy should be applied within the context of your regular work schedule.

If you have any questions or concerns about this Policy, please speak with your Manager.
