Health and Safety Communication Board Roles and Responsibilities
The Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a Health and Safety Communication Board in accordance with the basic posting requirements and province-specific obligations.
As part of the onboarding process, the Practice Manager will ensure all team members are aware of the location of the Health and Safety Communication Board.
The Health and Safety Representative (HSR) or Health and Safety Committee (HSC) will ensure as part of the regular workplace health and safety inspections that the board:
Is mounted in a high traffic area accessible to all team members.
Has posted required materials and kept them up to date.

Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations and any applicable code of practice
Printed and readily available to all team members. Post a notice advising team members where it is available for review (this can be an electronic link as long as a computer is nearby and accessible by all team members at all time).

Workplace Smoke Free Poster
Signs informing team members that smoking (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited in all workspaces. Refer to free provincial-specific resources or print No Smoking Sample Poster
Occupational Health and Safety Statistics
Post annual summary information related to injury and illness for the workplace. Prepared internally and/or when available, from the provincial Workers’ Compensation Board.
Health and/or Safety Assessments/Surveys (if applicable)
Assessments/surveys are typically performed by outsourced professionals, thus only posted if they have been conducted, for example: noise surveys, air quality testing, etc.
Inspection reports and Orders (if applicable)
Reports/orders will be provided by health and safety inspectors upon completion of their visit.
