Laurentian University wanted to redesign their annual Ontario Universities’ Fair booth to better reflect the forward thinking nature of the institution and offer students an engaging space to learn about the courses offered. The central piece of the environment was dominated by a large inflatable sphere that hung over a circular seating area filled with plants that reflected the natural landscape in Sudbury, the home of the university. Included in the shrubbery were a number of plants that are important to indigenous culture and were included to reflect the ties the university held with the local community. The remaining fixtures were produced in millwork and included oversized fabric graphic banners representing the different faculties teaching at the university.
