Design, fabrication, and installation of a roughly 5,000 square foot exhibit
Royal Ontario Museum
Holman was contracted by the Royal Ontario Museum to create the ‘Out of the Depths: The Blue Whale Story’. After two years of working off the shores of Newfoundland, the dedicated team at the ROM recreated the experience of standing next to a real blue whale and paid tribute to the loss of this magnificent endangered species. This process also resulted in opportunities for extensive research and conservation. Working closely with the ROM team, we successfully created a strong design story for this visitor experience, developing an exciting, informative, and interactive museum exhibition.
Holman designed, fabricated, and installed everything for the roughly 5,000 square foot exhibit, including display cases, graphics, interactive features, and, in partnership with Research Castings, showcasing the massive and magical creature’s eighty-foot skeleton.
